Description
The ovary is enlarged 2-3 times; the outer surface is thickened; the cut surface shows numerous
cysts arranged along the periphery. No corpora lutea can be seen. It is assumed that the cysts
represent follicles which have not been able to mature.
History
This was an incidental finding at autopsy in a woman whose obstetric history was not
known.
